How The Paleo Diet Changed One Random Blogger’s Life

Like many of you..

I wake up some days and the last thing I want to do is worry about my food!

So much time is spent learning, shopping, prepping, cooking, and eating that it can sometimes be an absolute burden.. I know you’ve thought that, and trust me, you’re not alone. Of course, we know it’s worth it.. All the effort. The work. We all know anything worth having is worth working for, and if you’re isn’t worth working for.. What is??

But every once in a while.. We simply don’t care. Every once in a while.. We want to quit.

That’s when it’s time to really remind yourself of the reasons why this is important enough for you to stick with it.. important enough for you to spend your hard-earned time and money on! And there’s no better way to remember what you’re working for than to read about the experiences of others. Of those who have already seen what proper nutrition is capable of. Sometimes these stories are dramatic, other times the changes may be more subtle.. In either case, learning from the experiences of your fellow Paleo dieters is always beneficial.

Today, I’d like to share with you just one of those experiences..

Now, there are a couple of reasons why we really liked this story..

Unlike the sites from this post, where we high-lighted 7 must follow Paleo diet blogs and websites, this site isn’t primarily a Paleo website.. It’s more of a personal / self-improvement blog. We thought that made her experience, and account of it, a bit easier to relate to.

Also, like she says in the article, she was already a healthy eater, and in mostly good health. So the benefits that she saw from the Paleo diet might be more subtle than those who go from a mostly fast food / junk food diet to a more Paleo way of eating. Not to say she didn’t see very real benefits, because she very much did! But the benefits were more subtle and only revealed themselves with a little time.

Here’some a highlight from the article:

That’s when I realized that when I’m eating more protein/fats/veggies I stay satisfied for a lot longer. Eating lots of carbs for three days showed me really clearly that carbs keep you eating more because you get hungry so quickly after eating them.

So be sure to check out the full article. It’s a great way to remind yourself that the fruits of your labor are a very real thing. Not just some distant promise in the future that never comes. Mental motivation and state of mind is something we talk about quite a bit here at paleoIQ.. When you’re trying to change one of your fundamental habit patterns.. like the way you eat.. It’s always important to keep your eye on the prize.

Fortunately, it gets easier.. Once those healthy Paleo habits become “set” then it’s pretty much diet on cruise control.. but even on cruise control, you’ll find yourself needing to give it a little gas to get up those steep hills. Mental motivation is that gas, and leveraging the positive experience of other Paleo dieters is your best bet to fill your “motivation tank”.
